Region of interest
[Only visible to logged-in users]
1. Fracture of left coronoid process
The left coronoid process exhibits a slightly displaced horizontal fracture. This is the source of the patient's altered chewing ability on the left side.
Sagittal views of left mandibular ramus
These sagittal cross sectional images demonstrate the horizontal fracture plane that has separated the coronoid process from the mandibular ramus. No damage has occurred to the left condylar head.
2. Fracture in the zygomatic arch
Two fractures have occurred in the zygomatic arch. The first fracture fragment is shown in these orthogonal cross sectional images. Mild medial displacement of the posterior segment of the fracture fragment has occurred.
3. Fracture of zygomatic bone
A nondisplaced fracture has occurred in the zygomatic bone. The fracture plane does not pass through the maxillary sinus or the orbit.
Axial views of left zygomatic arch
These axial cross sectional images demonstrate the depressed left zygomatic arch and the mild medial displacement of the posterior fracture fragment. The anterior fracture fragment remains non-displaced and the fracture plane does not pass through the maxillary sinus or the orbit.
Normal teeth in second quadrant
The teeth in the second quadrant have not been affected. The patient's issues are limited to the bones of the skull and mandible.
