Troublesome / painful / cracked tooth (Endodontic)
Region of interest
[Only visible to logged-in users]
1. Mild external resorption on tooth 22DB
Localized mild external resorption is present on the distobuccal surface of the coronal third of the root of tooth 22. The tooth appears normal otherwise. The smooth crescent-shaped resorptive defect that is present on the distal surface of tooth 22 is suggestive of a history of pressure resorption from an impacted tooth.
Axial views of tooth 22
These axial cross sectional images demonstrate the well-defined smooth resorptive defect that is present on the distobuccal surface of the coronal third of the root of tooth 22. The periodontal ligament space adjacent to this resorptive defect appears normal. The lamina dura intact. This appears to be a non-signficant incidental finding.
Buccolingual views of tooth 22
The alveolar bone is intact and normal the buccal and palatal surfaces of the root of tooth 22.
Mesiodistal views of tooth 22
These mesiodistal cross sectional images demonstrate the intact alveolar bone on the mesial and distal surfaces of tooth 22. Teeth 21 and 23 also appear normal.
Normal tooth 23
Tooth 23 appears normal radiographically. The endodontic treatment of the tooth has been successful.
2. External resorption on tooth 11MP
A small zone of external resorption is present on the mesiopalatal surface of the root of tooth 11 at the midroot level. The tooth appears normal otherwise.
3. Mucous retention cyst in right maxillary sinus
A small mucous retention cyst is present on the medial wall of the the right maxillary sinus. This is an incidental finding with no clinical significance.
