1. Recurrent odontogenic keratocyst in left anterior mandible
A well-defined radiolucency is present within the left anterior mandible, which is centered between the roots of teeth 32 and 33, but also extends mesially to the buccal aspect of the apical third of the roots of teeth 31 and 41. Peripheral granular bone formation is present around this radiolucency which reflects partial healing. However, extension of this radiolucency beyond the original area of involvement suggests that a recurrent lesion is present. A biopsy of this site is recommended.
Comparison of original lesional extent interproximal to teeth 32 and 33
This image from the prior scan dated August 27, 2014, reflects the original extent of the odontogenic keratocyst interproximal to teeth 32 and 33. The roots of teeth 32 and 33 were significantly splayed by this lesion, but no resorption was noted.
Axial views of anterior 3rd quadrant
These axial cross-sectional images demonstrate the radiolucent lesion interproximal to teeth 32 and 33, which extends mesially to the buccal aspect of the apical third of the roots of teeth 31 and 41.
Buccolingual views of anterior 3rd quadrant
These buccolingual cross-sectional images demonstrate the intact lingual cortical plate overlying the left anterior mandible. A defect is present within the buccal cortex between teeth 32 and 33, which is likely post-surgical in nature.
Mesiodistal views of anterior 3rd quadrant
These mesiodistal cross-sectional images demonstrate partial re-establishment of the positions of teeth 32 and 33, which were significantly splayed by the odontogenic keratocyst in the prior imaging study. Granular bone formation around the periphery of this lesion suggests at least partial healing. However, further mesial extent of this radiolucency compared to the original radiographic evaluation suggests a persistent lesion is likely present.

Caries are present on the distobuccal surface of tooth 18.

The occlusal surface of tooth 28 exhibits carious decay.
