1. Post-surgical defect in anterior mandible
A well-defined osseous defect is present within the anterior mandibular body. A block graft with two fixation screws extends over the buccal aspect of this osseous defect. This appearance suggests a history of surgical intervention. The residual osseous structures of the mandible appear normal.
Axial views of anterior mandible
These axial cross-sectional images demonstrate a normal appearance of the residual mandible adjacent to the osseous defect within the anterior mandibular body.
Mesiodistal views of anterior mandible
These mesiodistal cross-sectional images demonstrate the well-defined periphery of the osseous defect within the anterior mandibular body, which appears to be post-surgical in nature. The block graft overlying the osseous defect appears normal.
Normal sites 46 and 47
The edentulous 46 and 47 areas demonstrate a normal radiographic appearance. No intraosseous pathology is present.
Retained roots of teeth 44 and 45
The roots of the endodontically treated teeth 44 and 45 are retained. No periapical pathology is present.
Periodontal bone loss on mandibular incisors
The mandibular incisors exhibit mild horizontal periodontal bone loss.
2. Radiolucent restoration on tooth 34Bu
A radiolucent restoration is present on the buccal surface of tooth 34. This can be confirmed clinically.
3. Retained root fragment at site 35
A small root fragment is retained at the alveolar crest at site 35. Removal may be required if regional implant placement is planned.
4. Caries on tooth 37D
Caries are present on the distal surface of the crown of tooth 37. No periapical pathology is present.
5. Caries on tooth 38DB
The distobuccal surface of tooth 38 exhibits carious decay.
6. Lingual mandibular tori
Lingual tori composed of cortical bone are present along the alveolar process of the right and left mandible adjacent to the canine and premolar regions. This is a non-significant incidental finding.
