1. Osteoma at left mandibular angle
There is a smoothly contoured, pedunculated outgrowth of cortical bone located along the lingual surface of the left mandibular angle, which was partially captured in this imaging volume. This represents an osteoma.
2. Osteoma in anterior mandible
Another osteoma is identified along the inferior surface of the anterior mandible, just left of the anatomic midline.
Multiple dense bone islands in mandible + osteomas: rule out familial adenomatous polyposis
Numerous dense bone islands are observed in the mandible, periapical and periradicular to teeth 37, 36, 35, 34, 33, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, and at the edentulous sites 38 and 48. These findings, in conjunction with the presence of at least two osteomas in the mandible alone, could represent a radiologic sign of familial adenomatous polyposis (Gardner's syndrome). Consultation with the patient's physician is indicated for further evaluation.
