1. Vertical root fracture in tooth 16
A vertical root fracture in the palatal aspect of the crown and root of tooth 16. All of the roots of the tooth exhibit periapical rarefying osteitis . This tooth is nonrestorable.
Axial views of tooth 16
These axial cross sectional images demonstrate the fracture plane that is present on the palatal surface of the crown and root of tooth 16, as well as the localized wideneing of the periodontal ligament space adjacent to the fracture plane.
Sagittal views of tooth 16
These sagittal cross sectional images demonstrate the vertical fracture that extends to the midroot level of the palatal root of tooth 16. Teeth 15 and 17 appear normal radiographically.
Coronal views of tooth 16
These coronal cross sectional images demonstrate the fracture in the occlusal restoration of tooth 16.
2. Maxillary sinus mucositis
Moderate mucositis is present on the floor of the right maxillary sinus. This is an incidental finding.
